Café Photonique Debut
The Graduate Student Advisory Council (GPAC) has started a new seminar series entitled Café Photonique. The seminar series provides students with presentation experience, and is intended to foster collaborations CMDITR by increasing awareness of STC research across participating campuses. At Café Photonique seminars participants give a 30 minute presentation of their STC-related research. The presentations are recorded and uploaded to the CMDITR website where students at other campuses can view these talks at their leisure. Sergio Paniagua of the Marder Research group presented at the inaugural seminar on January 19, 2012. His talk titled, "The many uses of phosphonic acids: a collection of organic electronic stories" was recorded with Adobe Connect and is available at http://chem-stc-vid.chemistry.arizona.edu/p88023488/. If you are interested in presenting your work at a Café Photonique seminar, please contact Ariel Marshall, GPAC Chair or Nathan Sylvain, GPAC Co-chair. CMDITR Online Education Resources: Legacy of the STCThe Photonics Wiki is the main repository for CMDITR educational materials supporting interdisciplinary science. On the wiki you can find introductory articles, videos, simulations and graphics to include in your presentations. The wiki is gaining global popularity with 44,000 visits this year! Also check out the research equipment training videos on our YouTube Channel. Many of our videos have had thousands of views from all over the world. The RCR modules are being transitioned into the National Center for Professional Research Ethics — Ethics CORE library so that they will be permanently available after CMDITR sunsets this year. |
