Graduate Student and Postdoctorate Fellowship Opportunities

CMDITR Fellowships
To be eligible, you must be:

  1. A graduate student or postdoctoral researcher
  2. Currently in residence at or qualified to join a CMDITR partner institution (includes all universities receiving seed grant funds. Complete list of eligible institutions.)
  3. Working on Center-related education, diversity, outreach or research activities
  4. From an underrepresented group

How to Apply:

Students or postdoctoral fellows may be nominated by their faculty advisor at any time. The faculty advisor must complete the Online Nomination Form, and the candidate must complete the Online Application Form.

(to be completed by fellowship candidate. Candidates please note you will need to prepare a description of your research plan of 500 words or less. You will be asked to upload a Word (.doc) or Acrobat (.pdf) file as part of your application.)

 

GEM-STC Fellowships
To be eligible, you must be:

  1. An undergraduate student majoring in engineering or science who plans to attend Graduate School
  2. A US citizen at the time the application is submitted
  3. From one of the following underrepresented minority groups: Native American, African American, Latino, Puerto Rican, or other Hispanic American
  4. Able to meet the minimum GPA requirements

How to Apply:

Students must apply for the GEM fellowship online at GEM's website.

Students will have the opportunity to pursue one of dozens of graduate programs offered by the 7 participating STCs. For more information about the GEM-STC partnership, and to be contacted by a faculty representative, visit the GEM-STC Partnership website.

 

Program Requirements

To remain in good standing, all award recipients must accurately maintain their online participant profile, add publications, presentations, and other activities to the database whenever appropriate, and comply with all other Center requirements (e.g. “Responsible Conduct of Research” certification). STC Fellowship holders are also expected to assume participatory/leadership roles in Center-related meetings, educational programs, and activities conceived to benefit and unify Center members.
